My take aways from this video are how ridiculous and very smart this TED talk was. This talk was about how to only use one paper towel. Joe was effective because he interacted with the audience. This made them remember what he said much more effectively than if he had just talked. Smith's presentation style is hands on activity that the observers can watch. This means the people are more engaged, trying to see what he's doing. This video was a very different TED talk, because it was about paper towels. That by itself was hardly an idea worth spreading, but the underlying idea was that americans waste far too much paper. Billions of pounds of paper towels are used every year, and this TED talk discussed how to save millions of pounds per years by drying hands with one paper towel. Earth's natural resources will run out eventually at humanity's current rate, but if we slow down our usage, we can renew everything we need.
